Moto X review
Moto X features
This new and about to become very cool device has plenty of interesting options. One of them is touchless control which allows users to rest their hands from time to time. On this video Motorola shows that it's enough just to say "OK, Google Now" and the party starts. Immediately after those words phone goes to standby and starts listening voice commands. You can ask it about weather, call a friend or do a Google search, all that without finger touch. Also, you can do even more complex actions, like sending messages, but at the end you have to press send. Anyway, it's very good thing, especially when you are in hurry, you can dictate text message very fast. You can access you touchless control even by pairing Moto X with other devices by Bluetooth. If you are wondering how can phone listen to you constantly, even on standby mode, the answer is thanks to Motorola's X8 processor - fresh system-on-a-chip, showed for the first time just a several weeks ago on the new Droid series of smartphones. This processor is designed to include a low-power core, separated from the main core, and to do a job with very little energy spent. Moto X has some other interesting features. This phone is capable of recognizing that it is face down in a purse or a pocket, or to make adjustments based on what you're doing. For example, if your calendar is showing you're having a meeting, it can send all voice calls to voicemail.Moto X camera
Like the already mentioned Droid smartphones, Moto X has convenient way to activate the camera - you just twist your phone and the camera is ready, so you will never miss good opportunity to take a shot again. The front side camera has 2MP and the back one is suited with 8MP.Moto X design
It is to be expected that Moto X shares the design with Droid smartphones, but we can say it has superior outfit. Moto X has 4.7-inch screen in order to oppose to large 5-inch sized on Droid Ultra and Droid MAXX. But, this screen is at least larger than the one of 4.3-inch at Droid Mini, and if you ask us, it's perfectly sized for comfortable usage. The phone weighs about 130 g. Moto X doesn't declare itself as a large phone. It has same screen size like HTC One, but it's smaller and lighter. Ok, HTC One has aluminum body and powerful front-facing speakers, but Moto X has nice wrinkled back and its rear speaker has a lot of loudness.Moto X customization
This is perhaps the most striking thing about Moto X. If you buy this phone online you can choose over 2,000 color combinations via MotoMaker suite. Although the front side originally comes in black and white, you can easily change that. This level of personalization is certainly something no other manufacturer offers.Moto X specs
This phone with 65.3mm of width and 129.3mm of height packs some, let’s say, decent specs. First of all it has 2,200 mAh battery capable of mixed usage up to 24 hours. Of course, the phone works on Android 4.2.2, 1.7GHz dual-core chip and 16 or 32GB of storage room + 2 years 50GB storage free on Google Drive. There are also 2GB of RAM and 4G connection.
