LG G Pro 2 review
LG G Pro 2 is a direct competitor to Samsung Galaxy Note 3. In order to attract customers, LG G Pro 2 offers plentiful HD screen and 13MP camera, which should be enough for the start of the battle. However, the struggle with Note 3 will not be easy at all, because Samsung's ace has a great design and fantastic S Pen feature that makes it almost untouchable. LG G Pro 2 should think for a while before this, but the clash has already started, and there's no way back. Their price is almost equal, but let's look at what this massive LG has to offer.
LG G Pro 2 vs LG Optimus G Pro
LG G Pro 2 is a step forward compared to the original LG Optimus G Pro. This is best illustrated by the increase in processing power. Instead of quad-core Snapdragon 600 at 1.7 GHz, the new model uses far more powerful Snapdragon 800 at 2.3 GHz. Progress has been accomplished in terms of graphics, because of new Adreno 330 GPU, as well as slightly improved battery pack of 3.200mAh, which is removable now. However, what you will immediately fall in love about this phablet is its magnificent screen, which has grown from 5.5 to 5.9 inches.
LG G Pro 2 Design
With dimensions of 157.9 x 81.9 x 8.3 mm this massive device requires the use of both hands. It's already a tradition that the LG devices have the main buttons located on the back. LG G Pro 2 is no exception. The back panel is a home of the main and volume buttons. The screen is a dominant part of the front side and has minimum plastic surface around it, which is always beautiful to see. When the screen is about, it's the full HD IPS display with 1.920x1.080 pixels. While the resolution is increased compared to its predecessor, LG decided to reduce the pixel density to 373 ppi. Of course, your eye will not notice any difference, because the screen image is so clear that only number of pixels can point out the difference. Viewing angles are good as expected, and you can relax with friends for watching an interesting video.
LG G Pro 2 Software and Features
You've all heard ABOUT the KnockOn. It's simply a wake-up way of the phone by double tapping the screen. This feature is already seen on G2 and G Flex. Here it comes little modified, or it's better to say improved. Now the screen is divided into four squares, and the user sets a specific combination by pressing the squares in order to wake up (unlock) the phone. The LG said that in this way there are more than 80,000 combinations. This method of unlocking devices is much simpler and more convenient than mighty fingerprints sensor which we have seen much of lately.
Also, the new LG G Pro 2 has Content Lock option to lock the unauthorized access to your data. Also, for easy use with one hand, you can temporarily downsize the screen.
LG G Pro 2 Camera
The front-facing 2.1 MP camera brings something that is a big hit in the world. It's Selfie mode, which highlights your background to underscore your face. Also, the camera can be activated by saying certain words (cheese, etc.), by using the Voice Shutter.
When the main camera is concerned, its base is good. 13MP sensor and optical image stabilization is always a good combination. The camera has all the usual modes ( HDR, panorama , burst , etc.). Also, there is the increasingly popular option of focusing on already taken shots. Videos are also very good , because they can be made in 4k resolution.
Photos are pretty good. The colors are vivid, and the pictures are sharp, even in low light conditions. Ok, when you shoot in the dark, you'll notice a little noise, but in a small amount so it can be said that camera is pretty good.
LG G Pro 2 Specs and Performance
The combination of powerful processors and big 3GB of RAM, LG G Pro 2 will not let you down. It has already become a standard that these devices work very, very quickly. Everything works fast and smoothly. Beside the large screen on which everything is wow, LG G Pro 2 opens the apps instantly. Also, internet browsing is just fine, because the opening pages present no problem for the LG G Pro 2.
With a very solid battery, LG G Pro 2 can take its time. If this phablet is used in average way, it can get through the whole day. If you enjoy multimedia content, LG G Pro 2 can reach some 14 hours, which is very good.
LG G Pro 2 Conclusion
For a device that has a crystal clear 5.9-inch screen, there's no need to spend too much words. With new hardware and Android 4.4 KitKat, working on this fellow is a real pleasure (if you don't have small hands so you constantly have to use two hands which tends to be tiresome). In some ways (such as design and S Pen) LG G Pro 2 can't catch up with Note 3, but in terms of hardware they are almost equal. The problem that LG G Pro 2 can have is its price, which approximates the main competitor.
