LG L70 review
One the one side we have very solid specs, and on the other one stands interesting price. This is a story of LG L70's life. This is one of the best buy handsets in the entry level. Based on KitKat Android, the LG L70 is looking for a potential buyers who don't want to spend hundreds of euros on a single phone. At the same time it offers more than decent performance and the new software improvements taken from more expensive LG models. There are more things to say about this 4.5-inch smartphone, so let's take a several minutes walk within the LG L70 review.
LG L70 design
This is typical, nice looking LG phone. The back panel is textured in order to eliminate a standard smooth finish, which is normal for this category. In this case the texture doesn't mean no slipping, because the LG L70 can be tricky sometimes, especially if hands are wet. So, here's the first advice here. Buy a silicone phone cover. It creates more aesthetic feel and gives more confidence in your hands. At the same time it contributes to protections of accidental falls. Beside the LG logo, here you will find the 5MP camera in the neighborhood of LED flash and the speaker at the bottom.
Generally speaking about this phone, we are convinced to say it's compact and lightweight. Thanks to the plastic body shell it weights 126g only. Maybe the back side wasn't inspiring for you, but the front side is simply beautiful. It's flat, with a big screen. Plus, the phone has metallic shine on the edges, which always gives premium feel. If the black is out of question, you can count on the white LG L70, which gives more modern and fancy look.
LG L70 screen
With 4.5 inches, the LG L70 is considered to be larger phone. That doesn't means it's difficult to hold. Contrary, the phone is pretty much calm in hand. Speaking about the screen, we're coming to the weak point of the phone. With only 480 x 800 pixels and 207ppi, this LG is pretty weak in true multimedia experience. But, that's the cost of the low price. Luckily, the viewing angles are good, but the reading under the daylight is very poor. If you're wondering is there any one positive thing here, the answer is resistance to fingerprints.
LG L70 software
This is a home field for LG L70. It's powered by 4.4.2 KitKat Android. Wait a minute. The low cost phone has the newest Andoird?! Yup! LG did it. The notification bar is crowded by many important things, so you will have all the things you have to know and see in one place. LG L70 has Easy Home Screen with basic widgets if that's something you need. Also, this budget device got Knock Code, which is LG's alternative for password.
But, that's not the end. LG L70 is blessed with Smart Screen feature, which tracks your eye moves and takes the screen to sleep when you're not looking at it. One more surprise for low cost. Bravo! Not to forget. The LG L70 also has a Guest Mode for limiting access for other users. Maybe we're boring, but LG L70 automatically activates FM radio, MP3 player and other similar apps when you plug in the 3.5-mm handsets.
LG L70 battery life
The 4.5 inch could be potential issue for battery. But, due to low res, the LG L70 can stand for a quite enough time. The 2.100mAh suits about one full day of moderate use. So, if you have a several calls, couple of e-mails and social networks tasks, YouTube videos per day, this is it. But, if you play some games, run GPS or switch to a full brightness LG L70 is capable for about 12 hours of staying alive.
LG L70 camera
The back is place for 5MP camera with LED flash. The front-facing camera has VGA resolution, but it can be used for popular selfies. The LG decided for a 5MP, but all of us know that they could do better, at least 8MP. Some competitors already have 8+ MP cameras. But the camera features are on the higher lever. The camera interface is very simplified and easy to use, and it has Panorama, Continous, Sports and a few more modes. The results are interesting, especially in low light conditions, where the photos were better that expected.LG L70 specs and performances
Based on our tests and experience with LG L70, the dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 at 1.2GHz and 1GB of RAM give a nice performance here. With no lags or longer delays, the phone opens apps easily. Even the gaming an multitasking work very good. Of course, the more demanding games you should leave for some other phones. But, even they something work on this LG. The 4GB isn't some amount you should rely on. So, the second advice is to buy microSD card with this phone.
LG L70 conclusion
LG L70 is a pleasant surprise. We are used to surprises from LG, but this is a new thing, even for us. For about 150 euros you will be proud owner of fresh Android device with good potential. Ok, maybe the LG L70 isn't the best looking guy out there, but it's still far away from the critical outfit. The software features are great, but not the camera and 4GB of memory. However, if you want to get for your money as much as possible, LG L70 is one of the contenders for the best buy title.
