Argentina had forbidden the import of iPhone and Blackberry

This is very unusual, some would say bizarre intervention of one country to make some influence in today global crisis. Argentina is not a global economic force, but it is really trying to do something in economy sector. They had forbidden the import of Apple's and RIM (Blackberry manufacturer) phones into the Argentina. Why?

iPhone and Blackberry are holding over 60% of the market in Argentina, but they don't have manufacturing facilities. No manufacturing means no employees. So, Argentina government is trying to open new working places for their citizens. Their rule is simple: if you want to sell in our country, you will have to produce in our country. And everybody are happy...

Competitors like Nokia, Samsung and LG are already built the facilities in Argentina, which are usually for producing spare parts or additional equipment. There are no highly educated people for mobile production and technical support in Argentina, so they can not make complete circle of production line for mobile phones. This "economical" move of Argentina's government is one way to support its economy. This way, government support the export, rather to allow higher level of import into the country.

RIM (Blackberry) made official announcement that they are ready to support this idea and start with producing in Argentina, but only for producing and assembling some simple versions of Blackberry models. Apple didn't make any announcement about this issue.
