LG G3 vs Samsung Galaxy S5
LG G3 vs Samsung Galaxy S5 Design
Both the Samsung and LG have tried to give its best to these two handsets. At the same time, both manufacturers are not moved away far from the old ways when the design of their phones is concerned. Galaxy S5 greatly resembles its predecessor, with a rectangular shape and rounded corners and a perforated background, which is a change from the standard sparkling and flat plastic background that we used to see on Samsung's phones. However, the objection is why Samsung didn’t use a recipe called faux leather, we have seen on Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and some other devices, which gives them a more businesslike and serious character? LG wanted to get rid of smooth plastic too, and instead offering a ground surface, which is supposed to mimic metal. LG has chosen a route which HTC aimed for One M8, but not in total. However, LG G3 acts advance designed in relation to the competitor. S5 has a standard layout, while the G3 kept placing the buttons on the back, giving him more curious look. Although it seems a little unusual and requires some time getting used to, it seems to me that in this segment, LG is going one step ahead of Samsung. This is supported by the fact that LG has a larger screen than the Galaxy S5, but it nevertheless has only a few mm in size, so it isn’t more demanding in hands. Winner: LG G3LG G3 vs Samsung Galaxy S5 Screen
This is not just about the competition of two models, but the two display technologies too. IPS vs AMOLED. Samsung's representative in this battle is really strong and has beautiful colors. Image sharpness and viewing angles are very high, which is not surprising because it’s the 1080p screen (full HD resolution). Galaxy S5 has 432 ppi. On the other hand, LG is slightly larger, and it offers better display quality. With a 5.5-inch, this is a real treat for all lovers of the big screens. Almost unreal resolution of 2560x1440 pixels, with 534 ppi is considerably higher and better than the competitor, but in reality these numbers don’t make that much difference. The combination of a large and high quality screen makes the LG G3 ideal device for watching movies and playing games. The only place that might rival exceeds are the viewing angles, but only slightly. Winner: If you are looking for more (better) color and not too bulky screen, then it's Galaxy S5. Otherwise, all credit goes to LG G3.LG G3 vs Samsung Galaxy S5 Performances
In LG G3 review we already said that the difference in working between the two phones is almost not noticeable, this is understandable if we know both phones use the same processors and graphics. Samsung Galaxy S5 and LG G3 with 32GB are coming with the 3GB of RAM which is more than enough for anything you might want to do. For these two classes there is no room for any kind of chopping and downtime. Simple, among them such a thing doesn’t exist! If you really have to look for the difference, then you should look for it in the user interface, where one of these two can loose some milliseconds. But, that’s all. Winner: DrawLG G3 vs Samsung Galaxy S5 Hardware and Additional Options
Both models are up to the task when the new technologies and options are concerned. Samsung is always looking to offer more. This manufacturer is known for how it likes to research and bring the novelties. The best example of this is the heart rate monitor and fingerprints sensor. When we wrote about the Samsung Galaxy S5 review, we pointed out that these two functions don’t have full use, and they often are not able to do the job properly, but they are present here. We could say that the Galaxy S5 dominates over competitor because of IP67 certificate that guarantees resistance to water and dust, which is often the most important for many users. That is why this phone is tougher than G3, although the footage appeared on the internet showing how and G3 can withstand quite under water without damage, but these are still unconfirmed information, so don’t try this at home! When the battery is concerned, both are pretty good and equally long, but the advantage should be given to LG G3 because it has a larger screen that consumes more energy. Winner: Samsung Galaxy S5LG G3 vs Samsung Galaxy S5 Camera
We reach the slippery terrain, since the camera can take you to one or another phone. Samsung traditionally equips the better model with excellent optics, which allows the camera to capture a large number of details and very good colors. However, the S5 has a habit of little "fails" when night time shooting is about. However, the 16MP is unlikely to be crating any major flaws. The Galaxy S5 makes great photos that you can easily editing later. LG G3 brings the improvement optics too, but the biggest cake is laser autofocus system, which is a true novelty. Thanks to this system, the camera tracks the subject quickly and therefore it needs a less time to make a good focus, and high quality photography. This is the core of LG’s understanding of good cameras. All effort has been invested to this system, while the camera's interface has remained fairly simple, and it’s sufficient to press the screen and the camera will focus and take the picture for a moment. If you are a fan of "control in your hands," Galaxy S5 offers far more options, while LG G3 relies on the Auto mode, which shows how LG is confident n its new camera. Winner: If you like to explore and choose your own camera mode, then the Samsung Galaxy S5 is ahead, but I'd rather give a higher score for LG G3 laser autofocus, which immediately makes great pictures.LG G3 vs Samsung Galaxy S5 Conclusion
Let's start with the price. At this moment LG G3 costs several tens of euros more. So, no big deal, which is due to the fact that this phone is revealed after the S5 and nothing more. We can say that both are costly. Now, which one is better? It's hard to say. LG G3 is newer and brings some benefits that would bring Galaxy S5 if it’s younger competitor. LG G3 has a larger and better screen, but LG forgot to protect it against water and dust. Software experiences are in balance because both phones are good and practical, but also with unnecessary details. LG may narrowly have a better camera, and it looks in the better way than Galaxy S5. While Samsung is offering Galaxy S5 in a standard manner, LG has made a big step forward. Now both South Korean manufacturers can boast the best phones in the world. Which to choose? Try to think something like this. Do we really need a 5.5 inch screen? Is Samsung's plastic suitable for a highly prices phone? Do you really want to try out a laser autofocus? And finally. Do you want to have the latest or one less new phone? P.S. Whichever you choose you will not go wrong. That's for sure!Categories
