Nokia 808 with 41 megapixel camera

On Mobile World Congress in Barcelona Nokia presented Nokia 808 PureView, phone with camera of 41-megapixels.

The only brand on WMC with Symbian OS presented one of surprising features: camera with 41MP. This should be new standard in mobile industry or beginning of new generation of new smartphones, but maybe it may become big failure, it depends from other performance of the Nokia 808.

The camera of new Nokia 808 will not give full 41MP image (38 MP effective, 7152 x 5368 pixels), with Carl Zeiss optics. It works by taking the image data from seven neighboring pixels & then composes the samples. That way, you will get up to 38MP, but also up to 4 times zoom without loss of clarity.

You can enjoy in result of 1080p HD recording. If you are recording with 720p HD video, you will have up to 6 times zoom, but with nHD (640×360) recordings you will get 12 times zoom. All images you will see on 4-inch display, made of Gorilla Glass. With battery of 1400 mAh you will have enough "time" to get the perfect angle for perfect image. Device has 1.3GHz processor, and 16GM internal memory, but it's expandable up to 32GB. That should be enough for your images. With Symbian Belle, HTML5 browser, HSDPA 14.4 Mbps, HSUPA 5.76 Mbps and Wi-Fi connection all other functions beside picturing should be running smoothly.

We could expect more new mobile phones from Nokia with similar technology, but for now there are announcement from Finnish company.
