Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5 Review
Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5 Design
Samsung made many design fails in the past. Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5 isn't one of them. This beautifully designed device takes same visual elements from Apple's design philosophy, so you shouldn’t be surprised when you see gold colored metal tape around the Tab S' edges. The tablet is in offer in two colors: white and titanium bronze. The second one is more modern, while the white one is more conventional and in Samsung’s traditional style. The bigger Tab S packs some visual solutions more close to Apple's devices, which isn't to strange is we know that Samsung decides to turn to new design language, which was introduced on Galaxy Alpha. The screen is bigger, put the body proportions are still very good. This is only 6.6mm thick tablet and it's one of the thickest in the market. The same waist has Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4, which is simply fantastic. It's almost 1mm less that iPhone 5S! The result of such an advanced design is that sometimes you can hold tablet by one hand. Should I mention that Tab S 10.5 is lighter than half of kilo!? Most of the time you will spend using Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5 is landscape orientation, which is quite expected due to large screen and buttons configuration. Speaking about buttons, they are nicely placed and covered by metallic finish too. They respond very well, but the capacitive buttons are little bit more sensitive so you will find out yourself pressing them accidentally. The back side is design in perforating style, like Galaxy S5. There are also 8MP camera and two circles for allowing you to fix the tablet's cover. Beside lot of tiny wholes, the back surface is slippery.Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5 Screen
This is a part where all the competitors scream. It's not enough to say beautiful. I have to use some other word to describe this 10.5-inch Super AMOLED screen. Maybe adorable will be more adequate. Besides bringing fantastic 2560x1600 pixels, the screen reaches 288ppi, which is very good result, but still not close to 360ppi which are reserved for younger brother. The reason for less populated screen area by pixels is that the screen is significantly bigger. But, listen. The screen is simply fantastic. The image quality is great. The photos and text are very sharp and look smooth. Also, the screen is very bright, so the reflecting under the sunlight isn't a material for headache. The black color is very deep, and the other colors are very vivid and cheer. The time spent on working on this tablet is very pleasant. Also, if you are a photographer, designer or journalist, you will be glad to hear Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5 has several screen modes for even better experience depending what kind of work you have to do.Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5 Software
The software is a good at least as hardware on this new Tab. The tablet is working on KitKat Android platform with plenty of company's apps and other software. You can split windows into two parts, use tablet as a remote controller via Remote PC, leave some of your data on Dropbox, or easy connect to some other device by Quick Connect. The UI is very pleasant to the eye, and is looks like cleaner and more easy to use.Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5 Specs and Performances
The double-timed quad-core processors are here in order everything runs smoothly with the maximum battery saving. The faster one works on 1.9GHZ, while the other one is predetermined for easier operations and it runs on 1.3GHz. Having an octa-core under the hood is a great stuff, but unfortunately you will never see them working together, so the total speed of 3GHz is just in theory. Galaxy Tab S 10.5 works very nice, with no lags, delays and hiccups. The only time when you can feel some of these irritating things is while you play some very demanding video game, and that's it. The battery life is one of several things Samsung should be proud of. By the average use (including watching movies, browsing and document typing) Galaxy Tab S 10.5 lasts for more that 14 hours, which is more or at least the same as Sony Xperia Tablet Z2 and Apple iPad Air. Why is that? Ask super energy efficient AMOLED screen.Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5 Verdict
Samsung Galaxy S Tab 10.5 is simply fantastic tablet. This is perhaps one of the top 3 or 4 Android tablets at the moment. It seem that the Samsung Galaxy S Tab 10.5 has everything - great screen, streamlined design, two processors, abundant memory, a decent and sometimes pleasantly surprising camera and excellent battery life. The only thing it lacks is the S Pen stylus. The big plus is an acceptable price, which significantly depending on whether you are buying a tablet in Wi-Fi or 4G version. However, if that is not an obstacle, you will be quickly convinced that the Samsung Galaxy S Tab 10.5 is ideal both for fun and for work. Photos: samsung.comCategories
