Samsung Galaxy S Duos - more than dual SIM
Design
Samsung's design team did not give a lot of thought when it comes to the design of the Samsung Galaxy S Duos, but used the tried and successful formula, a design that greatly resembles to theGalaxy S3 model, its high class and superior design. We do not Samsung for this move, because this middle range phone had breathed the look and feel of top class. This model has dimensions of 121.5 x 63.1 x 10.5 mm and it is a very nice phone to hold and fits nicely in the hand. Talking of sizes this model is slightly larger than the Samsung Galaxy Ace, but designer skills and technology advancing enabled this phone to have a much larger display. This model is made of plastic, but due to its size, it is very compact and sturdy phone with acceptable weight of 120 grams. [caption id="attachment_3187" align="aligncenter" width="432"] Galaxy S Duos has a fantastic design, and it overwhelmingly reminds on its exclusive "big brother" Samsung Galaxy S3[/caption] Above the display a VGA camera and a proximity sensor are placed, below the display is a hardware home button and two capacitive buttons for Menu and Back. On the right side of the phone we can find the power button and the Micro SD card slot. The left side is “reserved” for the volume control button. When looking at the top of the phone, we find a 3.5mm input jack, and at the bottom of the unit the Micro USB port and the microphone are located.Display
The Galaxy S Duos is equipped with a 4.0 inch TFT display with 480 x 800 pixels and a density of 223 pixels per inch. These are more than decent "numbers" for a device of this class. The colors and contrast are excellent, with some complaints about the content view in stronger sunlight conditions. This model does not have the ambient light sensor to automatically adjust the brightness of the display, and using this phone at open sunlight is not a feature that should be praised due to the increased reflection, but would not be honest to say that the display is unusable.Hardware
The first and main feature of this phone is its Dual SIM (dual standby) feature. Tests have confirmed that the Galaxy s Duos has a great phone signal in areas where network coverage is weak. The SIM cards have both 2G and 3G support, which is very positive, because you do not need to think about the slot to put a card with 3G access in. The “engine” of the Samsung Galaxy S Duos is a Qualcomm S1 Cortex-A5 processor with 1 GHz power. The graphics are entrusted to an Adreno 200 GPU chip, and this model boasts a 768 MB of RAM memory. This set is considered a "classic setting" for midrange devices and provide solid performance. According to tests, web browsing, playing games and web broesing speeds are at a solid level. The Samsung Galaxy S Duos is manufactured to be an energy grateful phone, and not a "racing machine", so if you are a demanding user, and expect extra high performance from this smartphone, this is not the device for you. We think that a different CPU (maybe NovaThor) in this model would give a much better performance without pushing its price too far. From the software point of view, this phone’s operating system and software is at the top of the current "trends". Samsung Galaxy S Duos runs with Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich and the most recent TouchWiz user interface. This phone is works smoothly, applications run fine, and the menu itself is quite user friendly.Camera
The Samsung Galaxy S Duos is equipped with a 5 MP camera, and the photos snapped with this phone have the maximum resolution of 2560 x 1920 pixels. The camera interface is practically the same as the one in the Galaxy S3. The positive side of this interface is that while in camera mode, on the left side you have the options that offer shooting modes which can be edited as desired. Thanks to this, your favorite or most frequently used mode always a tap away. Users of the Samsung Galaxy S Duos have geotagging , smile detection and panorama mode available. Pictures taken with this model are high quality with vivid colors, minimal level of "external noise", and rich with image detail. All in all, the owner of this phone shall be more than pleased with this camera. This model is equipped with a Li Ion battery of 1500mAh, and according to Samsung it generates nearly 8:30 h talk time or 330 hours in stand-by 3G mode. Switch 3G to 2G, and the battery performance improves to 13 hours of talk time and 450 hours of stand-by mode. The battery of this model also offers 5:30 hours of web surfing via Wi-Fi connection, 4:30 of video viewing. Conclusion
The Samsung Galaxy S Duos is listed as one of the most complete and best Dual SIM models available today in the commercial market. This phone lived up to our expectations, and it turns out that actually you will "find in the box exactly what it says on the box." Samsung Galaxy S Duos justified the efforts of its creators, and from a phone users point of view, we are extremely pleased that the once only practical dual SIM phones started to get a quality appearance and good performance beyond the advantage of just having 2 numbers in one phone.
