5G hits Korea in 2017

The latest news from the land of Samsung and LG tells us that the South Korean government plans to invest 1.5 billion dollars in the development of 5G network, which will have 1.000 times faster transfer comparing the existing 4G (LTE) network. 5G will come into trial period for 3 years

South Korean 5G network will begin trial operations in 2017, and it will be in commercial use until 2020. New 5G network will enable Ultra-HD streaming, and many other improvements. How much this is important for South Korea indicate forecasts that the value of the industry that will use the 5G network reach boggling $ 310 billion in2020-2026 period. The project will include mobile operators in Korea, as well as Samsung and LG. Samsung has already performed pilot testing of 5G signal, during which the “three stars” company managed to achieve a flow rate of 1.056 gigabits per second at a distance of 2km.
