The share of Android operating system on mobile phones has increased worldwide, and continues to grow as the most popular operating system. This would be the shortest formulation of a research by British analysts Kantar Worldpanel ComTech's. ll This news is not too surprising (to us) since we are managing our statistics of the devices sold in the company www.mobileshop.eu. [caption id="attachment_3053" align="aligncenter" width="300"] Android holds the world in its hand[/caption] According to research by Kantar, the figures show the following: In the U.S. in the third quarter of 2012 Android is still at the top with a 57.5% share, but with a slight decline compared to the previous studies where the share of the OS was 66.4%. This is understandable because the recent appearance of exceptional iPhone 5, which "ate" a part of that percentage. Interestingly, the quite popular RIM (Black Berry) is far weaker than the Windows OS devices and both occupy a fairly modest part of the "cake" of less than 3% . In the UK the figures are similar, and the leader when it comes to operating systems, is still Android. Devices with this operating system take 58.2%, and a “modest” share of 28% iOS users. When it comes to Europe, Android has taken a dominant position in the last quarter, and is used by 67.1% of users, while the iPhone is much weaker with 16.5%, so common sense suggests that Europeans prefer Windows and RIM OS. [caption id="attachment_3054" align="aligncenter" width="300"] Sky is the limit![/caption] Kantar presents an interesting fact that in just one week after its release, the
iPhone 5 greatly "pushed" the figures in favor of Apple. Dominic Sunnebe analyst in Kantar claims that this expansion of Apple's iOS will be fully measurable until the next quarter. Google obviously knows very well what its doing because the Android platform is gaining more and more subjects, without any fear of losing market share. This is achieved by frequent and ongoing updating of its software versions, and listening the needs of its customers or markets. Users of Android devices have access to the widest range of applications supported, of all available operating systems. Google cleverly designed the functionality of its Android Market, where some applications are charged, but a large number of them are free.. Way to go! Source
